You will need:
- Frizz Serum
- A hairbrush
- A water spray
- Two bobbles
STEP 1
Brush and part your hair how you usually would (side parting, middle parting blablabla) as well as down the middle at the back.
STEP 2
Apply a dot of serum to your ends. With french braiding, your ends can be left looking very dry and frizzy. It's best to apply some serum both before and after to prevent this!
STEP 3
Spray your entire head of hair (loving the alliteration on this blog) with water until damp - not soaking wet though! You want it to be able to naturally dry overnight.
STEP 4
Take a section of hair (roughly two inches) from the top of your head and split it into three.
STEP 5
Now to start braiding. This is where it can get a little confusing if you've never done a braid before so I'll explain this part within a single step. You're going to want to take the outer right piece and cross it over the middle piece - now that right piece becomes the middle piece. Got that? Okay, now you want to take the left piece and cross that over the middle piece - the middle piece you just swapped with the left one was originally the right one. If you followed that fine then brilliant, keep reading on. If not, practice practice practice!
STEP 6
Now comes the fun part. Take your right piece of hair and add another piece of hair to it from the right.
STEP 7
As you usually would, wrap that now bigger right piece over the middle one.
STEP 8
You're going to repeat that step with the left piece now. Add another strand to the left piece from the left hand side and continue braiding.
STEP 9
Continue braiding and adding pieces in until you run out of hair to add.
STEP 10
Just do a normal braid right down to your ends and tie it off with a bobble.
STEP 11
Repeat all of this for the other side of your head.
STEP 12
One of the best bits about this tutorial - sleep on it!
STEP 13
Remove the bobbles and take out your braids. Unravel your creation. Reveal your inner Shakira. I don't even know anymore just do as you please, I am merely a voice on the internet, you don't have to answer to me :P
VOILA! There we have it, a simple yet pretty hairstyle. Can you see the amazing photo quality difference with night-time lighting vs 7:30am lighting? Ugh I wish I could take clearer photos at night. Anyway, I hope I helped in some way or another and if you're new to this little blog series then go check out the other four tutorials - you might find them rather spectacular. I mean don't ask me, I'm not one to blow my own trumpet (obviously new to this blogging shiz and I may be doing everything wrong, but it's cool because I enjoy writing these posts for you - yes, you - sat here reading this). Alas, your opinion matters so drop me a comment if you'd like. It'd be greatly appreciated.
