Best:
- Real Techniques Core Collection - What can I say? I'm sure the majority of us on the internet own these, and I'm just as sure that nearly everybody has at least heard of these. Either way, you'll know just how great these are. All of them are multi-purpose, high quality brushes which come at a pretty affordable price. Obviously at my age I can't be spending money I don't have on brushes and makeup, so these have just been perfection since the day I got them. They don't shed, they get the job done and they can be easily stored in its case which doubles up as a stand. Thanks for making my life easier in 2014!
- Lasting Finish Lipsticks by Kate Moss - These lipsticks came into my life around summer time, and I love them. They're the type of lipstick I own the most of (I swear I have at least 7 or 8) and there's nothing more I could ask for in a lipstick. Highly affordable, highly pigmented, long lasting and simply gorgeous. I'm positive that I'll be carrying these lipsticks right into 2015 and onwards!
- L'Oreal Touche Magique Concealer - This is great for on the go application. It blends like a dream, stays put and doesn't crease. It's quite a thin concealer, but it does a good job of covering under-eye circles. I use this on its own for school days when I can't be bothered to do anything with myself, and it just wakes me up under the eyes. It's not a spot concealer in my opinion. It's more of a highlighter concealer. However, I've been dependent on this for the majority of the year and so I had to include it!
- No7 Match Made Concealer Stick - This concealer, well, I had high hopes for it. My Mum loves No7 and swears by the brand, and so when I found this concealer for £7.50, I was quite excited. I'd never used a concealer stick before. I bought it, and I found it to be awful. The colour didn't look like what was shown on the label, the concealer came out slightly orange, it dried to a very dry, powdery finish and just made acne look X10 worse. It also creased under my eyes like that was what it was made to do - I was horrified. I won't be repurchasing this one, sorry No7.
- Bourjois Paris Maxi Delight Bronzer - Right, I can't fault the product itself. The reason this bronzer is in the worst category for 2014 is purely because, well, I don't know why I brought it. Clearly it's way too dark for my skin, and I was looking for a bronzer to contour with at the time - hello, can't you see the obvious shimmer in the bronzer, April? It's a worst for me. The product itself is lovely. It has a decent amount of shimmer, decent pigmentation, a GORGEOUS chocolately scent and an ease of blendability. In the summer, I can actually use this if I use a minute amount and blend it to the heavens - in which case, it can look gorgeous. However, I'll never need to buy another one of these as there is so much and I use so little. The fault is of my own, not Bourjois' xD
- Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation - I feel like this foundation is too darn pink. There, I said it. The "Ivory" shades aren't really all that ivory, and are more peachy. The past few months I've finally gotten out of that 'bad foundation match' stage and have gotten around the idea that there's no such thing as just too light or dark when it comes to foundation. There's also undertones to take into consideration. Clearly I didn't think about this when I purchased the Dream Satin Liquid. I like the foundation itself, really, I do, but my hands look quite yellow in comparison. Maybe it's just my own fault for buying a foundation too pink, but anyhow I won't be buying it again :L
