I'd never heard of this foundation until I went to Boots with the intention of buying the Wake Me Up Foundation. The product description of this foundation combined with the £2 less than Wake Me Up price tag won me over and - acting on impulse - I bought it. I think I'm safe in saying it was a really good buy!
Match Perfection comes in 11 different shades which all look like realistic, natural skin tones. Some foundations out there are extremely yellow or pink based and I sometimes ask myself "Could there be anyone out there who wears this?" purely because they're such unrealistic shades. These however seem to be a happy medium. Amazing colour range :)
I bought mine in shade Ivory (which I believe is the second lightest). That's another thing about this foundation - there are some really pale shades! I struggle to find foundations that match my skin tone completely because of my pale complexion, so it's great that I don't have to spend a good 10 minutes of my morning blending foundation like there's no tomorrow onto my neck. This foundation not only matches my face a treat, but blends easily too. I use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply the product and it leaves my skin looking really healthy and glowing. Not too dull, not too shiny. Surprising considering it contains SPF 18, which I've heard can leave a really shiny look.
The coverage I'd say is Medium to Light, though quite buildable. As for covering acne, I'd say it's all right. If you've got a few pesky under-the-skin spots (you know, the angry red unpoppable ones that ache pretty much your entire face), this foundation wont do the trick. Concealer will be your friend.I feel like highlighter isn't required at all when paired with this foundation (unless you're going for a quite harsh contour) purely because this foundation makes you look radiant in all the right places. For an everyday look, I'd miss out the highlighter all together.
The foundation itself is very thin, but somewhat highly pigmented. That's why a little goes a long way with it. One pump is all you need, but if you want more coverage then another pump doesn't do any harm :)

Staying power... Now, I'm not too sure how I feel about this. For me, it all depends on the environment I'm in. I tend to find that after a long, hot summers day at school the foundation is almost gone. That could be due to not using a setting powder, though I really like how this foundation looks without powder. I have to be in the mood for matte skin :P In the winter, I find it stays fairly well, it lasts throughout the day and has only lost a little of the coverage I need.
Packaging is sleek, modern looking and well... Pretty. That's all I can say.
Now, call me weird - I'm ready for it. But I'm going to admit it, and all my friends know it. My favourite part about makeup is the smell. And this foundation. This foundation. It smells almost like sun cream and... fruit. That's what it smells like. And I absolutely love it! Product smells are a big thing for me, so when I wake up in the morning and pump this foundation onto the back of my hand... I don't know I just find it really wakes me up and makes me want the product all up on my face. Accept me as I am ;-;
Now to see if I agree with the claims Rimmel London make...
"A match so perfect, it's undetectable in any light!"
I'd say that's pretty on point. I can't speak for any other shade but Ivory, but the one I own matches quite darn well.
"Lasts all day."
As much as I want to agree, I'm afraid I can't. If I were to be picky, I'd say that staying power is this foundation's only flaw. Maybe if I used a primer everyday with the tiniest amount of setting powder it'd last longer.
"Completely conceals imperfections with no foundation line, no makeup mask."
Hmm, I agree with the second part of this statement. Match Perfection does seamlessly blend into the neck, but it doesn't completely conceal imperfections.
So, what do I rate this product?
