TAG: Would You Rather - Beauty Edition

Heeeey there! I have a problem. I'm currently experiencing what all of you fellow bloggers out there call "writers' block". Words are failing me right now so I thought maybe it'd be better for me to just take a step back and write a nice, laid back post. I figured you all don't really know much about me , and considering this blog surrounds beauty in general - why not write a get to know me 'Beauty Edition' post?
PS: Cheeky me wasn't tagged by anybody to do this, but that's okay... Right?

I Woke Up Like This Wednesday #5

Hi! For this week's tutorial, I'll be writing about something I'm sure we've all heard of somehow... French Braiding. Not only do these braids look super cute on their own, they can overnight create beautiful waves. This is something I've been doing since I was about 13 - it's very simple to do once you know how. It's all about practice!

Face Of The Night - Fancy Dress Party

So a good friend of mine (Beth) turned 16 on 20th September. To celebrate, we all went to her house for a little party - a fancy dress party. Now considering it's getting closer to Halloween, I decided to go as a vampire. It was quite a lot of fun messing around with my makeup and deciding what to wear and what to do with my hair and whatever, and in the end I decided on the following look.

I Woke Up Like This Wednesday #4

Hi guys, this week's hair post will be a lesson on headband curling. This is one of my favourite ways of curling my hair as the curls last about two days on my hair (crazy, right?) and they just look gorgeous! They're easy to work with and still look amazing the next day. PS: I'm so sorry that I couldn't get this up by Wednesday, I've had exams to revise for and simply didn't have time for it. I hope you understand, anyway, let's get at it!

Planning for Christmas...Already?

That's right. I'm already planning how Christmas is going to go down this year. I'm sure anybody reading this who knows me will know how much I've been begging for Christmas to come sooner and it's so strange because I never feel excited for Christmas until the night before and eventually get sick of the freezing cold weather. Does anybody else get like that? This year I'm so ready though, I've planned presents for my friends, I've planned my own wishlist, heck - I've even planned where my presents are going! This isn't a spur of the moment longing either, I've felt this way since early August. Help!

EcoTools Foam Applicator Brush Review

The foam applicator brush was an impulse buy. I originally went out in search of a flat foundation brush and ended up coming back with this. I was immediately drawn to its unique sponge tip that I'd never seen on any other foundation brush before. My instant reaction was "...It's a beauty blender on a stick. I want it." and so here we are! If you haven't seen this product before, here's what I'm talking about...
See? Beauty Blender on a stick!

I Woke Up Like This Wednesday #3

This next post is going to be a tutorial on how to pin curl. There's not really much to say with this one, it's basically wrapping your hair around your fingers and pinning your hair with a bobby pin/grip on the top of your head. In my opinion, it works best on those with shorter hair. Layers are also quite an issue. This post sucked pretty hard for me because I hadn't done this method of curling since I had shorter, non-layered hair. So you can imagine my struggle. Nevertheless, I did it and it's done and you can now learn how to do it :)

Baby Fish Update

Anyone who has read my first post on fishes will know that my little sister's Balloon Molly gave birth to around 10 or so fishes. Here's an update on how they're doing! :)

We are down to 5 fishes currently, but that's assuming that all are accounted for. They rarely come out of hiding these days and nobody is too sure why. We think it's down to the Mother fish being a bully and stealing the majority of the food - greedy bugger! We (as far as we are aware) have:
  • Two orange ones with black tails
  • One orange one
  • One black one which is turning grey (it also has a little white belly which is adorable)
  • One white and salmony-pinky coloured one - we had no idea this little guy existed until we had to open up the filter. Two of the fish swam into it (again) and we had to open it up. Then right beside that we saw the white one swimming along the gravel. So so cute!
We rarely see the babies any more which is sad but at least they're still alive. Here are some pictures...

See its little eyes poking out?:D

I wish they'd swim around like this more often, it's sad seeing them hiding all of the time. Soon they'll be big enough to swim around and I'll get some nice pictures of them all. I'll try and get a video up of them if they decide to come out at some point if you'd like - let me know!

Boots Makeup Haul

Hi there! So just Monday gone I went shopping at Boots and picked up a few items as my Mum had a 'spend £30 and get 300 points' voucher that she didn't need and was going to expire this Sunday. I had planned what I was going to buy from looking at the website but in the end I didn't follow what I was going for. Typical of me, right? I bought 7 items in total and it all came to under £35 which I'm over the moon about because two of the products alone should've came to around £25. Don't stress yourself over how that works, just know that many vouchers came into play.

I Woke Up Like This Wednesday #2

This post, I'll be showing you how I curl my hair with bobbles. It has no official name as far as I'm aware so let's just for arguments sake call it bobble curling - makes sense, right? Here's the finished look...

August Favourites

This being my first monthly favourites post, I got a little excited and composed a list of around 13 things I've been loving this month. Excessive? Quite possibly. Oh well, here it is!
